Another great Saturday at redFISH!
Posted by Jen at 3:18:12 pm, August 1st, 2009Last week, we had a bustling Saturday with the Street Sale in EA...Lots of steady traffic and a great deal of interest in what redFISH is all about! I was able to paint while greeting all of our visitors...Plus, Ann Margaret spent some time in her studio that day...Great fun!
Today was another fabulous Saturday! Lots of people stopping by to check us out! Plus, Stephen and Joan were in today which made the afternoon at redFISH even more fantastic...The more artists, the better! All of our visitors were very impressed by redFISH and can't wait to learn more!

Figure Drawing Classes
Posted by Heather Harris at 1:33:17 pm, July 8th, 2009Starting October 14th reFISH art studios will be hosting our Fall figure drawing class. The class will run for 5 sessions and will include clothed, partially clothed, and nude models, as well as video instruction. Participants will practice and learn a variety of drawing techniques, enabling them to create a three-dimensional illusion on a flat surface of paper. Topics of study include learning to see form, understanding the figure's movement, placing the figure in perspective, and the various types of folds and their constructions. All we ask is that you bring your own pencils and sketch pads. If you are interested we ask that you commit to all 5 sessions for a fee of $90.00. Please make a check payable to redFISH to reserve your spot by the September 15th deadline.
The classes will take place every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 7-9 p.m. starting October 14th and ending December 9th. A flyer will be emailed out soon!
Sketch Crawl!
Posted by Heather Harris at 1:24:24 pm, July 8th, 2009On the last day of the redFISH trip to France Heather and Jen had the idea to set aside a couple hours to tour a local city to record and quickly take in everything they saw by simply sketching it out. Well we brought that idea all the way from France to the streets of Elmwood. We will start at the Albright Knox and continue through the Japanese gardens of the Histroical Society, on to Forest Lawn, Delaware Park by the zoo, and down the city-scape of Elmwood finally ending at Spot coffee to share our work and relax with some coffee! Please join us with your sketchbooks for a fun day!
We are still figuring out the details, but the sketch crawl will take place one Saturday in August from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A flyer will be emailed out shortly to everyone on our address list.
